This is the perfect trip for anyone who wants to discover the history and millenary tradition of the famous “Black Gold” of Modena & visit the so glorious Ferrari Museum and why not, a Parmigiano Reggiano Factory!!
We will leave Verona early morning, to reach in about 1 hour the magic Food Valley of Italy: Modena area.
Considered Modena’s “black gold,” balsamic vinegar is a unique product with a thousand-year history. Modena is rightfully proud of its signature delicacy and is anxious to share it. In fact, Modena’s balsamic vinegar is known all over the world, but it deserves to be experienced in greater depth, from its origins in the vineyard to the table (and beyond).
This excursion will give you a deeper understanding of this symbol of Modena’s culture and history.
We will start the day with a visit to one of Modena’s oldest traditional balsamic vinegar families.
Here, the producer himself will welcome us, touring his vineyards and seeing all the stages of production from the pressing of grapes to the barrel aging. You will smell the delicious scent of vinegar in every corner.
The experience includes plenty of vinegar samples and we’ll taste some very old vinegars, more then 50 y.old, too.
As this family are also olive oil producers, we will also do a proper olive oil tasting before our lunch.
Our morning will end with a delicious full lunch directly at their private terrace overlooking the valley, based on awards and regionals food, mortadella, Parma ham with vegetables, ravioli with ricotti, the so famous “gnocco fritto of Modena”, all paired with and a glass of Lambrusco wine produced on-site.
The lunch ends with a fresh ice-cream topped with old balsamic vinegar.
In the afternoon/or early morning before the visit at the “acetaia”, we will visit the glorious Ferrari Museum. The most evocative name in Italian sports cars is Ferrari, and this dedicated museum in Maranello, Italy, focuses on the auto manufacturer’s history and production. It features 25 cars, including road cars and prototypes, a section devoted to the historic Formula 1 racing team, and fascinating automotive artifacts and memorabilia.
Back in Verona late afternoon.
